The Golden Calf

      Unable to conceive today's world without money, this
      careful thought has occurred to me all by myself, I have not needed
      authorities resort to economic or social scientists, for you to see.

      For the ancient Greek sophists man was the measure of all
      things, the "homo measurable" has been replaced today by money
      and thus the traditional powers have been merged into a single
      power, economic, ours is almost an economic culture. The
      ways to get money are not always overly lawful, so
      that have to be thrown into the mountain and are dedicated to getting the base metal
      through theft, thymus, extortion and various other innumerable
      liberal arts of this kind. Others, however, move with agility
      channels of law for profit means that although
      legal, ethical distance be leagues. There are experts in complicated
      washing financial engineering honors and estates; nations of laws
      put their knowledge to their own service rather than that of the other,
      individuals who sell questionable products or abusive margins or
      politicians who administer the trust placed in them for
      advantage, thereby forming the bad rulers squad
      described by Aristotle in his Politics. We could continue ad
      naming infinitum worshipers of the golden calf to be legion,
      no qualms affected receive their thirty pieces. Versus
      these legions have emerged in recent years across the globe
      people and movements which Surprise! Money seems to have a
      secondary role, as if he had formed an "international"
      solidarity to try to return to the core of man's life
      men. A movement which includes organizations whose members
      sometimes life play, and in a metaphorical nothing to try to
      help their peers cope with poverty, illness or abuse of
      those defending spurious economic or political interests. Because
      Does Greenpeace environmentalists trying to board a ship
      war aboard a rubber boat do it for money? What members
      Amnesty International that collect information on detainees
      politicians in your country? Or the doctors from Doctors Without Borders
      cure diseases in Third World countries? At first glance
      committed not seem very profitable for them, of course. These
      organizations could add a list that has grown innumerable
      over the years and with the disgust that produces see how few take advantage of
      the destitute while the rest turn your head the other way. And so
      many thousands of selfless people who work for free or are
      encompassed by NGOs, who believe that money is important (as a means,
      not as an end) but most people are. Maybe all these people is
      the exception, honorable exception, not the rule, and perhaps our
      future depends on it becomes the exception rule.
